Privacy Policy (Updated 30.03.2020)

We take data protection seriously.

The protection of your privacy when processing personal data is an important concern for us. When you visit our website, our web server automatically records the IP of your internet service provider, the website from which you visit us, the web pages you visit, and the date and length of your visit. This information is required for the technical transmission of the websites and for servers to operate securely. This data is not personally evaluated.

If you send us information via our contact form, this data will be stored on our servers during the course of data backup. We will only use your data to process your request. Your data will, of course, be treated as strictly confidential. It will not be passed on to third parties.

Data controller:

Personal data

Personal data is data about you as a person. This includes your name, your address and your email address. You do not have to disclose any personal data in order to visit our website. In some cases, we will need your name and address as well as further information in order to be able to offer you your desired service.

The same applies in the event that we send you informational material at your request, or if we answer your questions. In all such cases, we will make it explicit. Furthermore, we only store the data that you have provided us with – either voluntarily or automatically.

If you use one of our services, we generally only collect data that is necessary in order for us to be able to offer you our services. We may ask you for further information, but giving this is voluntary. Whenever we process personal data, we do this to be able to offer you our service or to pursue our commercial goals.

Automatically stored data

Server log files

The website provider automatically collects and stores information in so-called "server log files", which your browser automatically transmits to us. This includes:

• The date and time of the request

• The name of the requested file

• The page from which the file was requested

• The access status (file transferred, file not found, etc.)

• The web browser and operating system used

• The complete IP address of the computer requesting the file

• The amount of data transferred

This data will not be combined with data from other sources. Processing is carried out in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR based on our legitimate interest in improving the stability and functionality of our website.

For reasons of technical security, in particular, to counter attempted attacks on our web server, we store this data for a short period. It is not possible for us to draw a conclusion on individual persons on the basis of this data. After seven days at the latest, the data is rendered anonymous by means of abbreviation of the IP address to the domain level, so that it is no longer possible to link them to individual users. In addition, the data is also processed in anonymised form for statistical purposes; it is not compared with other pools of data or transferred to third parties, nor are extracts from it. The number of page views is only shown in the context of our server statistics, which we publish in our activity report every two years.

Cookies

When you visit our websites, we may store information on your computer in the form of cookies. Cookies are small files that are transferred from an Internet server to your browser and stored on its hard drive. In this instance only the internet protocol address is being stored - not personal data. The information which is stored in the cookies allows you to be recognised automatically at your next visit to our website, which eases your use of it. The legal basis for the use of cookies is the legitimate interest in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 lit. (f) GDPR.

Of course you can also visit our website without accepting cookies. If you do not want your computer to be identified at the next visit, you can also reject the use of cookies by changing the settings in your browser by selecting "Reject cookies". The relevant procedure can be found in the manual of your respective browser. However, if you refuse the use of cookies, that may limit the use of some areas of our website.

Google Tag Manager

This website uses Google Tag Manager. Tag Manager does not collect any personal data. The tool triggers other tags, which in turn may collect data under certain circumstances. Google Tag Manager does not access these data. If deactivation occurs at domain or cookie level, it remains in use for all tracking tags implemented by Google Tag Manager. Google's privacy policy for this tool can be found here: https://www.google.de/tagmanager/use-policy.html

Google Analytics with anonymisation function

Our website uses Google Analytics, a web analysis service from Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheater Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043 USA, hereinafter referred to as “Google”. Google Analytics uses "cookies", text files that are stored on your computer to help analyse your use of the website.

The information generated by these cookies about your use of this website, including IP address, is transmitted to a server of Google, Inc. in the US and stored there.

In using Google Analytics our website employs the extension, "_gat._anonymizeIp". Your IP address will be truncated by Google within the Member States of the European Union or in other parties to the agreement in the European Economic Area.

Google will use this information for the purpose of evaluating your use of the website, compiling reports on website activity for us, and providing other services relating to website activity and internet usage. Google will also transfer this information to third parties, insofar as this is legally specified or insofar as third parties process this information on behalf of Google.

Google says it will not associate your IP address with any other data held by Google. You may refuse the use of cookies by selecting the appropriate settings on your browser, however, please be advised that if you opt out of using cookies, you may not be able to use all the features of this website.

Google also offers a deactivation add-on for the most popular browsers, giving you more control over what information Google collects about the websites you visit. The add-on informs Google Analytics' JavaScript (ga.js) that no information about the website visit should be transmitted to Google Analytics. However, the deactivation add-on for browsers from Google Analytics does not prevent information from being transmitted to us or to other web analytics services that we may use. For more information on installing the browser add-on, click on the link below: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=en

If you have agreed that your web and app browser history may be linked to your Google account by Google and that information from your Google account may be used to personalize ads, Google will use your data together with Google Analytics data to create target group lists for cross-device remarketing. For this purpose, Google Analytics will first record your Google-authenticated ID on our website which will then be linked to your Google account (i.e. personal data). Google Analytics will then temporarily link your ID with your Google Analytics data in order to optimise our target groups.

If you do not agree, you can turn this off by making the appropriate settings in the "My Account" area of your Google account.

Google Google AdServices / Google AdWords Conversion Tracking

This website uses Google online marketing tools provided by Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheater Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA. They are used to recognise that a visitor has accessed our website via a Google ad. Google Analytics uses cookies, which are text files stored on your computer that allow the service to analyse the way you use the website. The cookies for conversion tracking are set when you click on an ad placed by Google. These cookies expire after 30 days and are not used for personal identification. If you want to prevent conversion tracking, you can set your browser so that cookies from the domain “googleadservices.com” are blocked. You can also exercise your right to opt out.

. If you would like to learn more about these methods or would like to know what options you have to prevent this information from being used by Google, click here:

We use the Facebook pixel feature from Facebook Inc., 1601 S. California Ave, Palo Alto, CA 94304, USA (“Facebook”) on our website. This allows the behaviour of users to be tracked after viewing or clicking on a Facebook advertisement. This process is designed to evaluate the effectiveness of Facebook ads for statistical and market research purposes and may help to optimise future advertising efforts.

The data collected on you remain anonymous to us, so they do not provide us with any information about the identity of the user. However, the data are stored and processed by Facebook, which may make a connection to your Facebook profile and which may use the data for its own advertising purposes, as stipulated in the Facebook Privacy Policy (https://www.facebook.com/about/privacy/). You can enable Facebook as well as its partners to switch on advertising within and outside Facebook. It can also store a cookie on your computer for these purposes.

Customer account

For every customer who registers accordingly, we set up password-protected direct access to the master customer data we have on file (customer account). Here you can view the data about your completed, open and recently dispatched orders and manage your address data, bank details and the newsletter. You agree to treat your personal login information as confidential and not to make it available to any unauthorised third parties. We can accept no liability for the misuse of passwords, unless we are responsible for said misuse.

Credit checks, order processing

As part of the processing of your contract with us, the personal data you provide will, if necessary, be passed on to the transport company that will be handling the delivery of your purchase. To handle your payments, we will transfer your payment data to our bank or payment service provider.

When paying using your PayPal balance or a credit card or direct debit via PayPal or, if offered, making a purchase on account via PayPal, we will pass on the relevant payment details to PayPal (Europe) S.à.r.l. et Cie, S.C.A., 22-24 Boulevard Royal, L-2449 Luxembourg (hereinafter "PayPal"). PayPal reserves the right to conduct a credit check for any of the payment methods it offers. PayPal will use the result of the credit check concerning the statistical probability of a default on the debt in order to decide whether to offer the respective payment method. The credit information may contain probability values (known as credit scores). When scores are included in the results of the credit check, they are based on a scientifically established mathematical and statistical method. Among others, address data is included in the calculation of the scores. For further information on how PayPal protects the data and about the credit agencies it uses, please refer to the privacy policy of PayPal: https://www.paypal.com/en/webapps/mpp/ua/privacy-full

To send the newsletter we use the so-called double opt-in process, i.e. we will only send a newsletter via e-mail if you have explicitly confirmed that we should activate the newsletter service. We will then send a notification e-mail and ask you to confirm that you wish to receive our newsletter by clicking on a link contained in this e-mail. When you register for our newsletter, we will save your IP address and the date of registration. This is solely stored in the event that a third party misuses your email address in order to register you for the newsletter without your knowledge or your authorisation. Should you not wish to receive any newsetters from us later, you can object to this at any time without incurring any costs other than the transmission costs for the base rates.

We act strictly in accordance with statutory requirements.

If you no longer wish to receive any product recommendations or advertising from us, you can withdraw your consent at any time without incurring any costs for this other than the basic costs to transmit the message. A written notice to us using the contact information listed under §1 (e.g. email, fax, letter) is sufficient for this purpose. Of course, each marketing email will also contain an unsubscribe link.

Custom marketing

Our goal is to make our advertising for you more useful and interesting. Therefore, the evaluation and analysis of the pseudonymous data collected about you helps ensure that we do not send you advertising at random. Rather, we will send you advertising, such as newsletters and product recommendations, by email or post that best matches your areas of interest.
